Call for Abstracts

The theme of the 10th International Conference on Managing Fatigue is "Managing Fatigue to Improve Safety, Wellness, and Effectiveness", and we are seeking abstract and panel proposal submissions on related topics. Example topics that would fit within the conference scope include:

  • Measuring fatigue and fatigue risk
  • Scheduling systems and policies
  • Training and education
  • Fatigue risk management programs
  • Sleep health
  • Fatigue detection and management technologies
  • Operator workload, including distraction and drowsiness
  • Cognitive and other performance effects, work accidents/incidents and commuting crashes
  • Health effects
  • Effects on life outside work: family life, social life
  • Intervention studies
  • Surveillance studies

The committee looks forward to receiving abstracts from a mix of academia, research, and practitioners.

Abstracts may be submitted now via this website until September 30, 2016.

We are pleased to announce that some of the accepted papers will be invited to be expanded for possible inclusion in a Special Issue of Accident Analysis and Prevention.

Abstact Preparation

Per Accident Analysis and Prevention guidelines, organization of material for empirical investigations should follow standard reporting format, with no more than 1,000 words total plus no more than 4 images (figures, graphs, or tables). Please include line numbers in your submission. If your abstract is selected for presentation or poster, this format can be easily expanded to a full-length article. The abstract should include:

  • The problem(s) to be addressed
  • Methods used
  • Results
  • Discussion
  • Summary

Please use this template when creating your abstract.

The title of your file should be "MF2017_Abstract_YOUR FULL NAME".
